Kollam: Kerala Police have arrested two men for sexually assaulting an American woman, who was staying at an ashram in Kerala’s Kollam.
The incident took place on July 31, Monday, when the foreign woman was sitting alone at a beach near the ashram, police officials said on Wednesday.
The accused Nikhil and Jayan approached her and offered a cigarette, which she declined. But later she agreed to have drinks with them and accompanied them to an empty house, where she was sexually assaulted while she was in an inebriated state.
Later she informed the ashram authorities who reported the matter to the Karunagapally Police.
The police took the two men into custody and recorded their arrest.
They will be produced before a local court later in the day.
