Modi, Obama begin talks in White House

Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama have begun bilateral talks at the Oval Office in the White House.

Modi drove straight from Blair House to the famous West Wing of the White House to hold talks with Obama, first in restrictive format followed by delegation level.

International issues including defence, security, trade and situation in West Asia in view of threat by Islamic State militants will be part of the talks, PTI reports.

After the meeting they will issue a joint statement.
