Vrindavan priests demand ban on Sunny Leone's new album for 'hurting religious sentiments'

Vrindavan priests have demanded a ban of Sunny Leone's new video album titled 'Madhuban Mein Radhika Nache' released by Saregama music, alleging that her dance performance in the video is "obscene" and hurts their religious sentiments. They further alleged that the video has maligned the image of Braj Bhoomi.

On Saturday, a Hindutva organisation staged a protest and sloganeered against the actress. They further filed a police complaint demanding that an FIR be filed against her. However, no FIR has been registered thus far, said Superintendent of Police (city) MP Singh.

"Such videos should be banned and the actor must tender a public apology for her act. We cannot tolerate obscenity in the name of 'Radha Rani'. We are also writing a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the matter," said Mahamandleshwar Yogi Naval Giri of Vrindavan.

"This is the cheapest form of gaining publicity in the name of Radha Rani," said Mohini Bihari Sharan Maharaj from Vrindavan Chatur Sampraday. The dance video had hurt the religious sentiments of the entire community, he alleged. He further added if the government does not take action, they will move court.
