Thirty stores destroyed in fire at the Tehran Grand Bazaar

The Tehran Grand Bazaar was completely gutted in a massive fire involving about 30 stores.

Iran S News Agency reports there have been no casualties yet.

According to the Xinhua news agency, the fire was reported at 7.38 p.m. on Saturday in Tehran Grand Bazaar by Tehran Fire Department Spokesman Jalal Maleki.

Six stations of firefighters responded to the accident, arriving there in three minutes.

He added the fire has so far destroyed 30 stores, damaged many walls in the building and shattered glasses.

Maleki said major part of the flames has been quenched.

The mall is located in Hajeb Al-Dowleh historical market, which is one of the oldest arcades in Tehran Grand Bazaar.
