Bengaluru: Actor Prakash Raj recently took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he should go to the violence-hit Manipur instead of flagging off the Vandebharat train.
“A Station Master can do it…We really want to see you in #Manipur sirji”, the actor tweeted on Monday.
Prakash Raj’s reaction came in response to the Prime Minister’s tweet on the same day about visiting Bhopal to flag off the Vande Bharat trains.
“Tomorrow, June 27, I will be in Bhopal to attend two events. Five Vandebharats will be flagged off at the first event at Ranikamalpati Railway Station. This will improve travel facilities to Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Bihar and Jharkhand”, PM Modi tweeted.
Prakash Raj said that the station master was enough to flag off the Vandebharat trains and that the Prime Minister should be visiting the violence-torn Manipur. The tweet was with the hashtag ManipurBurning.
“I am a Citizen. I will ask questions…”, the actor later tweeted.
Manipur has been burning since early May, witnessing unprecedented violence in recent times due to the clashes between the plain-dwelling Maitei community and the Kuki tribe, preponderant in the hilly areas.
The ethnic violence has so far claimed more than 110 lives and has also resulted in the displacement of several thousands. The situation continues to remain grim.
