Supriya Sule, working president of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), affirmed on Monday that her party will persist in pursuing the case regarding the party's name and symbol in the Supreme Court.
She emphasized that despite recent setbacks, the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) remains committed to the legal fight.
"The NCP and its symbol have not been definitively handed over to the split faction; it is only temporary as indicated by the conditions attached," Sule stated in Pune. "This is an injustice to Sharad Pawar, and we will continue to challenge it in the Supreme Court."
Sule expressed gratitude to the voters who have steadfastly supported the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). She refrained from commenting on whether the party would relinquish the eight Lok Sabha seats it won in the recent parliamentary elections.
Criticizing the ruling alliance in Maharashtra, Sule pointed out the ongoing issues in Pune. "Despite being in power at the Centre and local levels for the past seven years, the city's roads are still flooded. What progress have they made?" she questioned.
She highlighted the rise in crime rates in Pune, mentioning serious incidents such as drug seizures, hit-and-run cases, the activities of the 'Koyta gang', and failures within the government machinery at Sassoon Hospital. Additionally, Sule expressed concern over the departure of around 35 companies from the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi, which provides six lakh jobs to locals. She vowed to take action to prevent further corporate exits from the city.
Sule also criticized the BJP for its treatment of allies, contrasting it with the Congress party. "The Congress has always supported its allies and nurtured talent. In contrast, the BJP's approach to managing ministerial positions based on certain formulas often leads to the neglect of its partners," she concluded.
