In another incident reminiscent of recent school violence, a school principal in Uttar Pradesh's Agra district was caught on camera physically assaulting a teacher for arriving late to school.
The video of the altercation has since gone viral on social media platforms.
The principal of a pre-secondary school in Seegana village was captured on video not only attacking the teacher, Gunjan Choudhary, but also accusing her of attempting to tear her clothes during the altercation.
The footage shows the principal grabbing the teacher's kurta while the teacher tries to break free. Initially, the principal's driver intervenes to separate them, but then he too engages in a brief scuffle with the teacher and behaves rudely towards her.
As the altercation unfolds, a voice can be heard in the background expressing disapproval of the principal's behavior, questioning its appropriateness. The teacher reportedly sustained injuries during the altercation, as confirmed by a colleague.
Later in the video, another confrontation occurs between the principal and the teacher, during which they exchange insults and accusations of habitual tardiness.
Both the principal and the teacher resort to using vulgar language inappropriate for their roles in the school environment.
The teacher is heard challenging the principal, saying, "Beat me if you have the courage. What can you and your driver do?" In response, the principal asserts her authority, stating, "There will be no bullying here," while her driver urges her to leave the scene.
Subsequently, the principal lodged a police complaint against the injured teacher, escalating the situation further.
