No 'Police Clearance' needed for Saudi visas for Indians

New Delhi: Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that it has decided to exempt Indian citizens from producing a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) to obtain a visa and travel to the kingdom.

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in New Delhi said in its announcement, "In view of the strong relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India, the Kingdom has decided to exempt the Indian nationals from submitting a Police Clearance Certificate."

It explained that the requirement for PCC is cancelled as Saudi's contribution in strengthening the strategic ties between the two powers.

"The PCC will no longer be a requirement for Indian citizens to obtain a visa for travelling to Saudi Arabia. This decision has been taken as part of the efforts of the two countries to further strengthen their relations," the release said.

The embassy appreciated the contribution of two million plus Indian citizens who reside in the kingdom.

"The Embassy appreciates the contribution of over two million Indian citizens living peacefully in the Kingdom," the release stated.
