Popular YouTuber Nalini Unagar, boasting lakhs of followers across social media, has hit back after Delhi Police filed an FIR against her over a post targeting the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
In a defiant video message, Nalini revealed: "Kal mujhe pata chala mere upar FIR hui hai. Meri galati itni hi hai ki maine bazar mei jo milavati cheezein mil rahi hain, iske bare mei awaz uthai. Maine ek baar nahi uthai, baar baar uthai. FSSAI ke CEO se maine pucha ki aap iss bare mei chup kyu hai." (Roughly: "Yesterday I found out that an FIR has been filed against me. My only mistake is that I raised my voice about the adulterated products being sold in the market. I did not raise it just once, but repeatedly. I asked the FSSAI CEO why he remains silent on this issue.")
She added, “If roads are being built well, I have the courage to appreciate it, but if there are problems, one should also have the courage to listen to criticism.”
Nalini, who launched her cooking channel Nalini’s Kitchen Recipe on YouTube in 2021, shut it down in 2024 due to poor returns. She has since deleted the contentious posts—and several others—for now.
