New Delhi: Following a Kerala YouTuber converting his car into a running swimming pool and driving through public roads in a dangerous manner, authorities took strict action, The Indian Express reported.
The YouTuber Sanju Techy was mimicking a scene from the Malayalam movie Aavesham. He shared a video on YouTube in which he was seen dipping in a makeshift pool he built inside his car and drove it through a busy road. He was also seen drinking tender coconut and relaxing in the pool.
However, after some time on the road, water seeped into the driver's seat as well as into the engine, which caused him to stunt abruptly and side the car by the road. TIE reported that this has created a traffic block.
The video was shared two weeks ago, and it kept gathering flak from netizens.
One commented, "I showed this video to my 3rd grader who is hesitant to go to school. He understood the need for education and said that he would go to school without hesitation from now on."
Another commented, "No matter how big your reach, you should not be proud. Shibu Day."
A video of a young man who had his brain filled with garbage is doing rounds on social media," this was a third user's reaction.
After receiving intel, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) lodged a complaint against Sanju for violating several traffic rules and suspended the vehicle's registration certificate. MVD said that the YouTuber and his companion, who were inside the car, released the water the swimming pool held into the road dangerously, posing a threat to other road users.
Following this, Sanju and three others were awarded the punishment of doing social duty at the Government Medical College for a week. They were also directed to attend a training programme. Further, MVD cancelled the driver's licence for the person who drove the car during the stunt.
