Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced the dissolution of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Sunday, following the party's disappointing performance in the recent Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.
Kharge approved the complete dissolution of the Odisha PCC, which includes the President, PCC office bearers, the executive committee, and District, Block, and Mandal Congress Committees. Additionally, Frontal Organizations, Departments, and Cells were also dissolved with immediate effect, as stated in the official party announcement.
The statement further mentioned that the current District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents will temporarily continue as acting presidents until new DCC presidents are appointed.
Previously, Sarat Pattanayak held the position of president of the now-dissolved Odisha PCC. This significant restructuring aims to revitalize the party's organizational framework in the state.
