Kejriwal to hold roadshow in Gujarat's BJP stronghold on June 6

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) head Arvind Kejriwal will hold a roadshow called 'Tiranga Yatra' in Gujarat's BJP stronghold Mehsana city on June 6. It will be his fourth visit to Gujarat. The state is getting ready for an election in December.

Gujarat AAP president Gopal Italia said Kejriwal will reach Ahmedabad airport at 3 pm and travel to Mehsana. He will hold a grand Tiranga Yatra in the city which will roll out from the city municipal shopping centre. It will be the culmination of the AAP's three-week "Parivartan Yatra".

The Delhi Chief Minister is trying to project AAP as an alternative to the ruling BJP and opposition Congress to the people of Gujarat. In April, Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a roadshow in Ahmedabad. AAP leaders asked people across all 182 constituencies to voice their concerns during the Yatra.

The Parivartan outreach started on May 15 and Kejriwal had last visited Gujarat on May 11. On May 1, he addressed "Adivasi Sankalp Mahasammelan," a tribal rally held at Bharuch with Bharatiya Tribal Party chief Chhotu Vasava.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the Gujarat Assembly elections from all 182 seats. He added that the people of Gujarat will now have a choice as they did not have an option in the polls before.

Kejriwal also had urged the people of Gujarat to give his party one chance in the forthcoming elections. He claimed AAP will end the cycle of corruption in the state. After the landslide victory in Punjab, AAP is seeking to expand its footprint.
