New Delhi: Protesting low salaries, a significant number of IndiGo's aircraft maintenance technicians went on sick leave for the last two days in Hyderabad and Delhi, PTI reported.
Nearly 55 per cent of IndiGo's domestic flights got delayed on July 2 after a majority of the airline's cabin crew members took sick leave. Sources from the industry told PTI they apparently went to attend Air India's recruitment drive.
When the pandemic reached its peak, IndiGo slashed the salaries of a major section of its employees.
Meanwhile, new airline company Akasa Air along with revamped Jet Airways and Tata group-owned Air India, has started recruiting, and many from IndiGo attended their hiring process.
According to sources, IndiGo's technicians went on sick leave so as to not invite any disciplinary action while protesting against low salaries.
However, IndiGo did not respond to PTI's queries in this regard.
