Hyderabad: The Muslim Students Federation (MSF) in the University of Hyderabad has alleged that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student's wing of BJP, raised slogans like "Go to Pakistan" 'and "Goli Maaro Saalon Ko" against Muslims students. In a Union General Body meeting on campus on Wednesday, ABVP members also attempted to physically attack students, but the security personnel stopped the attempt, The News Minute reported, citing MSF's account.
In view of the high-tension situation, the meeting was called off.
It is in the Union General Body Meeting the incumbent Students' Union, whose tenure is about to end, submits their union report. It will follow the dissolution of the Union, and the process of launching new Students' Union elections will start. MSF students stated that ABVP members disrupted the proceedings of the meeting. This caused the cancellation of the meeting, and the Union was dissolved. But Student's Union members continued presenting their report amid sloganeering and chaos.
President of MSF, Muhsin Bin Mustafha, alleged that ABVP members tried to assault MSF members from behind, but security intervened. However, the ABVP students sloganeered, "Go to Pakistan" and "Goli Maaro Saalon Ko", he added.
Muhsin further alleged that the University's security personnel bias during the chaotic incident. He said that MSF condemned the inaction and bias of the university security "as they intimidated us and portrayed us as outsiders." He added that MSF is not going to cower before hate and intimidation.
In the meantime, ABVP has released a statement stating that they were only pointing out that the Student's Union President Abhishek Nandan was no longer a student of the University, and as per its law, he cannot address the meeting. ABVP claimed that for raising the issue, their Karyakartas were attacked.
