Shimla: The Himachal High Court Bar Association called a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the harassment allegation against the Director-General of Police of the State, Sanjay Kundu by a woman advocate of the bar, reports The Indian Express.
President of the Himachal High Court Bar Association, Nareshwar Singh Chandel, issued the notice for the meeting on Monday. The notice stated that the woman had alleged that she has been misbehaved by DGP Kundu and has falsely named her in a case under Sections 107 and 151.
Chandel said that the complainant had submitted a video of the entire incident before the bar as evidence. After going through the footage, it became apparent for the bar to believe that the DGP misbehaved with the woman and misused his position, acting like a 'thanedar'.
Chandel said that there was a dispute over a land of an ashram in which the complainant's father was involved. The DGP had called the women to a temple in the ashram last Saturday, pretending to settle the issue. When she reached there, she was humiliated, he said.
DGP Kundu responded that the woman and her father were accused, cases were going on the duo for cheating, forgery and trespass in criminal courts. He added that the woman goes to the temple daily with her dog, and the priests were terrified.
