Dushyant Chautala seeks floor test as 3 independents quit BJP govt

Former deputy chief minister of Haryana and leader of the JJP, Dushyant Chautala, wrote to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya requesting a floor test following the withdrawal of support from three Independent MLAs for the BJP cabinet headed by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

On Wednesday, the Congress demanded that the President's Rule be imposed in Haryana, along with new elections, following the withdrawal of support for the BJP administration by three Independent MLAs, which reduced the Nayab Singh Saini government to a minority in the state assembly, the New Indian Express reported.

Chautala, in his letter, said: “Given these developments and the clear stance of my parry - i.e. JJP, which does not extend its support to the present government and is open to backing any other political party for government formation, it is evident that the incumbent government no longer commands a majority in the legislative assembly”.

To support their claims that they are against the BJP, the main opposition has also requested the JJP, the INLD, and Independent MLA Balraj Kundu to send letters like this one to the governor.
