CM Kejriwal alleges CBI and ED torturing witnesses to falsely implicate Sisodia

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, accused investigating agencies of filing false affidavits against jailed AAP leader Manish Sisodia the day after he was called to testify by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. “They are torturing people to testify against Sisodia,” Kejriwal claimed, Indian Express reported.

AAP had earlier lashed out at the BJP-led Central government and said “PM Modi wants to silence Kejriwal who is only leader to raise corruption issues”. "Why has Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal been summoned by the CBI? Till date, there is not even a single dime of money earned through corruption that has been found at his or any AAP leader’s home or office,” Atishi said.

While this was going on, the BJP claimed that the law was simply following its natural course and that the Chief Minister was not only complicit in the scandal but also its "mastermind."

More than a month after former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was taken into custody in connection with this investigation, the CBI has summoned the AAP leader. Sisodia is now being held in Tihar Jail after being taken into custody by the CBI on February 26. Neither the CBI nor the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has mentioned Kejriwal in their respective cases brought up in relation to the excise policy.
