Mumbai: The police charged a man with obscene act under BNS (Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita) after he entered stark naked in women’s coach of a train in the city on Monday.
The incident was reported on the AC local train plying from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kalyan, at the Ghatkopar station.
Women in the coach screamed as the man stood near the door and the ticket checker pushed him out onto the platform.
The Kurla Government Railway Police (GRP) filed an FIR against the man whose whereabouts are not known, according to the report.
Two home guards, who were ignorant of his act, dressed him up and put him on another CSMT-bound train.
It is reported citing police that man was seen lying Ghatkopar station wearing shirt and shorts.
When the CSMT-Kalyan train pulled in, he reportedly took off his clothes and boarded the train.
The man also faces charges under the Indian Railways Act for for unauthorised entry into a ladies’ compartment.
Police sources said that only after tracing the man it could be evaluated if he was suffering from some mental condition.
Responding to the incident many on social media criticized lapses in security.
