New Delhi: Activist Prof Nandini Sundar said that Israeli products should be boycotted since everything that is happening in Palestine is against the Geneva Convention. She reminded that there is a country named Palestine, and it will remain as a country.
She was speaking at a solidarity seminar organized by the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind women's wing at the Constitution Club, New Delhi.
At the seminar, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind national secretary Rahmathunnisa said that those who believe in humanity and justice should do something about the brutality and efforts of ethnic cleansing against women and children in Palestine.
Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University Nivedita Menon said that the situation in the country where the preamble of the Constitution itself is being criminalized in India. She said that equality does not mean integration but acceptance of diversity. Professor Jenny Rowena shared the experience about her husband, Delhi University Asst. Professor Hany Babu, being jailed, gathering false evidence against him.
Senior media activist Bhasha Singh said that while the Constitution guarantees equality for all, it depends on who implements it. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Women's Wing National Secretary Shaista Rafat opined that even a small dedicated group can change the world.
