New Delhi: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang issued threats that they would harm anyone helping actor Salman Khan.
The notorious gang has already taken responsibility for the shooting death of NCP leader Bab Siddique near the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Bandra East on Saturday night.
Soon after Siddique’s murder, speculations were rife about the gang’s involvement in it and eventually they took up responsibility in a Facebook post.
Shubuu Lonkar, believed to be Bishnoi gang associate Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar, claimed responsibility for the murder.
Police arrested Lonkar’s brother Pravin Lonkar Sunday evening after he issued the post.
Lonkar claimed in the post that Siddique was killed for his links to India's most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim alongside being close to Salman Khan, the gang’s another target, and another reason is the custodial death of Anju Thapan.
Thapan, who was among the arrested in the shooting outside Salman Khan’s house, was found dead inside the Mumbai Crime Branch lock-up on May1.
The police claimed he died by suicide, which his family questioned saying he was tortured in custody.
The Bishnoi gang issued threat to the actor Khan over his alleged involvement in the shooting of blackhucks in 1998 at Bawad in Mathania near Jodhpur.
The gang claimed that the killing of the animal upset the Bishnoi community, which considers the blackbuck sacred.
Since the gang’s threat, security to the actor and his residence has been tightened.
However, firing took place outside his house Galaxy Apartments in Bandra on April 14.
