New York: A tornado carried away a four-month-old baby and placed it safely in a tree, parents discovered minutes later in Tennessee in the US on Saturday.
Parents told BBC that the tornado tore up their mobile home before sucking up the bassinet with the baby inside it.
The boy's one-year-old brother who was around at the time suffered only minor cuts and bruises.
The boy's mother Sydney Moore reportedly said that the ‘tip of the tornado came down and picked up the bassinet with my baby, Lord, in it’.
When the tornado hit the place ‘He was the first thing to go up’, she said.
The boy’s father was also picked by the tornado when he tried stop the baby going up, she said.
‘He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown,’ Moore was quoted as saying.
Moore scrambled to protect the other son when the one of the walls of their mobile home collapsed.
‘I was being really crushed. I couldn't breathe, the woman reportedly said.
After the tornado went away, they discovered that Lord was missing.
After 10 minutes of frantic search for Lord they found him safely in a tree just 25 feet away.
‘It was just like he was placed in a tree, like a little tree cradle for a baby. It was like a cubby hole in a tree, at the bottom,’ Moore said.
Moore saw her fiancé Youngwood coming through the rain carrying Lord. She said it was like a scene in movie.
Police reported that three people were killed and several injured after a tornado hit the area.
