In connection with a violation of the Prohibition Act, AAP leader Ishudan Gadhvi was arrested by the Gandhinagar Police on Monday. Later, after due process, the arrestee was released on bail.
Gadhvi was arrested on Saturday following the results of a forensic examination of his blood sample.
He appeared at the Infocity Police station on Monday after police inspector Pradeep Singh Vaghela had filed a complaint against him under sections 66(1)B and 85(1) of the Prohibition Act last Saturday. Gadhavi's Forensic Report, which determined that he had 0.0545 percent alcohol in his blood, led to the FIR being filed. The medical test was conducted at Gandhinagar civil hospital.
In terms of the alleged drunkenness of AAP leader Ishidan Gadhvi when he came for a protest at the National Democratic Alliance headquarters in Gandhinagar against the paper leak scam, Shraddha Rajput, a BJP cadre, told reporters that we could smell alcohol coming out from AAP protesters. Shraddha Jha, another BJP cadre, accused the same against a group of AAP protesters.
AAP leaders and cadres were arrested by Gandhinagar police on December 20 for rioting, gathering illegally, attacking police, and molestation.
Despite the claims, Gadhvi rejected all of it stating that he never drank alcohol. "I on my own voluntarily produced myself to the police on the FIR filed against me, being a responsible citizen. I have never touched liquor in my entire life and I demand my narco analysis test and brain mapping tests to be conducted, to prove my claims. And these tests should be video graphed and conducted where there is a non-BJP establishment," he said.
