Doha: Indian ambassador to Qatar Deepak Mittal requested Indians there to download the embassy's 'India in Qatar' mobile app to contact the embassy at any time, Gulf News reported.
The ambassador said that assistance could also be sought through the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra helpline, which will be launched soon. The ambassador was addressing the Indian community in Qatar after the flag hoisting ceremony held as part of India's 76th Independence Day celebrations.
He said that their embassy was their home, and its duty was always to help them. They want to connect with each and every one of the more than 7.5 lakh Indians who have made Qatar their second home, Mittal said.
He said that he requests Indians to make use of the two facilities provided by the embassy. One was the mobile application 'India in Qatar'.
"You can contact the embassy by phone at any time. The embassy will try to contact you within 24 hours," Gulf Times quotes Mittal.
He added that the second service was the call centre, and a toll-free number for the call centre would be available soon. According to him, the service would be available in multiple languages, and one can call this number to ask questions and assistance.
He also said that relations between India and Qatar had been completed for 50 years.
