Jammu: Just over a fortnight from now, Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in a rally to reiterate India's claim over Pakistan occupied Kashmir, IANS reported.
'Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Sankalp Rally' is to be organised in Jammu on May 8 by Jammu and Kashmir people's Forum.
It will highlight India's claim over parts of Jammu and Kashmir under the control of Pakistan, BJP sources said, according to the report.
Refugees from Pakistan occupied Kashmir who have settled in Jammu and Kashmir and elsewhere in India will attend the rally.
Shah is to visit Jammu and Kashmir for the second time as the Centre is considering polls in the Union Territory.
Polls are likely to be announced after completion of the delimitation exercise and summary revision of electoral rolls.
PM Modi will hold a rally on April 24 on the occasion of National Panchayat Day at Palli panchayat in Jammu's Samba district.
A slew of other top official visits to the area include those by Union Home secretary, A.K. Bhalla and Intelligence Bureau Director, Arvind Kumar on April 14.
The officials will review arrangements for Amarnath yatra this year.
The 43-day long Amarnath yatra will start this year on June 30 and end on August 11 coinciding with Raksha Bandhan and Shravan Purnima, IANS reported.
After the abrogation of Article 370, the yatra was cut-short in 2019 and in 2020, raging covid cases came in the way, cancelling the yatra.
