14 among exam solver gang held in UP

Lucknow: 14 people linked to a solver gang were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF).

The arrests were made amid the ongoing examination for recruitment at several posts of the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC).

Just like in the Sanjay Dutt film Munna Bhai MBBS, one of the impersonators of a candidate was found using a Bluetooth-enabled hearing device which the STF personnel had to use a pair of tweezers to dig it out of the person's auditory canal.

Fourteen people, including seven individuals linked to the solver gang from Lakhnaur, Gomti Nagar Extension, and Bareilly were nabbed in raids by the UP STF.

According to officials, these solvers took hefty sums for impersonating candidates and appearing in their places in the aforementioned recruitment exams.

When they were questioned, they admitted that they had forged photo IDs to send solvers to exam centres.

The UPSSSC examinations for the positions of Gram Panchayat Officer (VPO), Gram Vikas Adhikari(VDO), and Samaj Kalyan Paryavekshak were conducted in four shifts at 737 examination centres across 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
