Los Angeles: Ant-Man fame Paul Rudd has joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building season 3. Fans have been speculating about his role on the show as he made a cameo appearance as broadway star Ben Glenroy in the season 2 finale.
However, it is not clear whether Rudd is joining the cast as a series regular, recurring, or guest.
Series co-creator John Hoffman told Variety Rudd, after making an auspicious entrance into the world of our show at the end of season 2, is someone we clearly want to know more about and see in our upcoming Season 3. "He is a clear source of many upcoming questions and many twists yet to come."
Only Murders in the Building is about three unlikely friends who find themselves in the middle of a real-life murder mystery. The main characters Charles (played by Steve Martin), Oliver (played by Martin Short), and Mabel (played by Selena Gomez) start a true crime podcast of their own about the incidents in their building.
The trio is trying to find the killer of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger in season 3. Unfortunately, they are publicly implicated in the homicide and have to deal with neighbours who suspect them. On top of that, there is a competing podcast.
The Hulu show has received critical acclaim for its comedic approach to crime fiction. The three strangers in the affluent Upper West Side building are bringing notable chemistry which viewers have been loving.
In July 2022, the show was renewed for a third season.
