The Coldplay concert at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26 is set to witness one of the most extensive security arrangements in recent times, as lakhs of fans gather to see the British rock band perform.

Over 3,800 police personnel, including a specialised National Security Guard (NSG) team, have been deployed to ensure safety. Additionally, more than 400 CCTV cameras have been installed for 24/7 surveillance of the venue and surrounding areas.

Security at the event includes police teams stationed at entry points with metal detectors, plainclothes officers for discreet monitoring, and significant participation from women police personnel for checkpoints and gate duties. Senior officials, including Ahmedabad Police JCP Neeraj Kumar, have confirmed that specialised units like the Crime Branch and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are also part of the arrangements.

Emergency response measures include quick response teams and 10 bomb detection squads actively working to prevent any untoward incidents. Medical and paramedical teams have been strategically positioned around the stadium to handle any health-related contingencies.

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G.S. Malik recently conducted a comprehensive security rehearsal at the stadium, inspecting all arrangements to ensure smooth execution during the event. Security efforts extend to nearby metro stations and public areas, which are also under heightened surveillance.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM and conclude by 10 PM on both days.

Ahead of the event, Coldplay shared behind-the-scenes moments on social media, exciting fans further. Chris Martin was seen arriving in Ahmedabad, riding a pillion on a scooter down an empty street. The band also posted a photo of Chris in a casual black T-shirt, olive green shorts, and white sneakers, adding to the anticipation for their performance.
