Katrina Kaif says open to doing south Indian films, Inspired by Ponniyin Selvan: 1

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif said she is open to doing movies from South India. The actress is inspired by Ponniyin Selvan: 1.

She said if a compelling script and strong character come along, language will not be a barrier for her. "We have some phenomenal directors working in south India. The best and most recent example is Mani Ratnam sir's 'Ponniyin Selvan: 1'. Such an amazing film, na? Such grandeur, beautiful frames, and music. Making a film on such a big scale at this stage in his life proves the mettle of an iconic director."

The actress has done three south Indian films in the early 2000s. Her character opposite Mammootty in the 2006 Malayalam film Balram vs. Tharadas is the most notable one. She also worked in two Telugu films Malliswari (2004) and Allari Pidugu (2005).

Katrina will be soon seen in a horror comedy movie 'Phone Bhoot' with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. The film will be hitting screens on November 4, 2022.
