Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has been appointed as the National Ambassador for UNICEF India.
Recognized for her contributions to social causes, Kapoor has been associated with UNICEF India since 2014, focusing on issues like girls' education, gender equality, foundational learning, immunization, and breastfeeding.
Expressing her gratitude for the appointment, Kapoor emphasized the importance of ensuring every child's fundamental rights.
She said, "Every child deserves a fair chance to life, safety, education, and health." Kapoor, a mother of two sons, emphasized the need for children to have a voice, underscoring the significance of listening to their perspectives.
In her new role, Kapoor aims to advocate for the rights of all children, regardless of gender or ability, to ensure they have access to safety, education, and supportive environments. She emphasized the critical role of confidence-building activities like sports, arts, and reading in nurturing children's abilities to dream and innovate.
Reflecting on her decade-long journey with UNICEF India, Kapoor expressed her commitment to empowering children and supporting their development. Beyond her philanthropic endeavors, Kapoor continues to excel in her acting career, with recent successes like 'Crew' and upcoming projects like 'The Buckingham Murders' and 'Singham Again.'
