Mumbai: On the complaint by Maharashtra BJP leader Kishor Wagh, the Mumbai Police met Big Boss OTT fame Uorfi Javed and recorded her statement on Saturday, PTI reported.
Javed was called for questioning at the Amboli police station.
The development in the tug-of-war between the two happened after Javed filed a complaint at the Maharashtra State Commission for Women a day ago.
BJP leader Wagh had registered a complaint against Javed alleging improper dressing in public places. However, no FIR has been registered so far against Javed, officials informed.
Last day, Javed's advocate informed that he had filed the complaint before the state women's commission, accusing Wagh of threatening Javed and criminal intimidation to harm the actor in the public domain, Asian News International reported.
The lawyer said that he requested preventive action under the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
It was on January 4 BJP leader Wagh opened an attack on Javed through her Twitter post. She asked if the women's commission was going to take any action against Javed. She wrote that half-naked women walking openly on the streets and Maha Mahila Ayog supporting the model's display of body in Mumbai's public was very disgusting.
After the Twitter post, Javed's lawyer said that he would approach the women's commission and file a written complaint. He argued that such a public instigation, as what was made by BJP leader Wagh, would be a threat to Javed's life that she could be mob lynched. So protection for the sake of the model's well-being will also be sought, he had said then.
