Mumbai: Made in Heaven fame Sobhita Dhulipala has shared her aspirations to audition for the highly anticipated Bollywood film, "Don 3."
In the original film series, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas portrayed the lead characters, Don and Roma, in the 2006 and 2011 instalments. Dhulipala finds it flattering that people have compared her energy in "Made in Heaven" to the character Roma. She expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to audition for "Don 3," which is set to be directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Dhulipala has garnered recognition and admiration for her roles in projects such as "Made in Heaven" and "Ponniyin Selvan," where she showcased her acting prowess and versatility.
While reflecting on her career choices, Dhulipala said that she has always strived to make the most of the opportunities that have come her way. She believes in choosing roles that align with the accessible opportunities, rather than accepting projects solely for visibility or to ensure a steady stream of work. Having made her film debut in Anurag Kashyap's "Raman Raghav 2.0" in 2016, Dhulipala recently reprised her breakout role as Tara, the wedding planner, in the second season of the Prime Video series "Made in Heaven." Her portrayal of the street smart woman garnered widespread acclaim for its depth and complexity.
She acknowledged that her choices have been influenced by the opportunities presented to her. While she expressed her desire to work in a Karan Johar or Farah Khan film, she emphasised the importance of making the best choices from the opportunities available at any given time. Dhulipala believes in giving her best effort, regardless of the genre or nature of the project.
In her most recent film appearance, Dhulipala played the character Vaanathi opposite Jayam Ravi in Mani Ratnam's epic film "Ponniyin Selvan I and II."
She appreciated the opportunity to work with talented directors like Ratnam and Zoya Akhtar, who have offered her distinctive roles. Dhulipala expressed gratitude for directors who take chances on her, even when her roles are significantly different from her previous work.
