Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan's one of the most beloved films 'Don: The Chase Begins Again' is set to have another sequel. Producer Ritesh Sidhawani confirmed that Farhan Akhtar is working on the script.
Don is the reboot version of the 1978 film of the same title. Ritesh and Farhan bought the rights to the original and remade it with Shah Rukh Khan in 2006. His titular anti-hero became one of the most successful and memorable roles done by the superstar. In 2011, the same success was repeated with Don 2: The King is Back. There were no substantial talks about a third part and fans were necessarily expecting it.
Now, Ritesh has confirmed to PTI that the third part is in the scripting stage but he cannot reveal the plot yet. "Till my partner (Farhan Akhtar) finishes writing it, we won't do anything. Right now, he is in the phase of completing the script...Even all of us are eagerly waiting to see Don."
After Shah Rukh Khan's impressive performance in the action film Pathaan, fans are excited to see what he will do next. The four-year gap from the acting career has also left people expecting more from SRK.
Farhan Akhtar made Don intending to give it a contemporary style and Don 2 also kept up with the arc even though it was made six years later. Now, fans are curious how the writer-director will make ‘Don’ fit in 2023.
It also remains to see whether Priyanka Chopra will be returning to reprise Roma, a police officer seeking revenge on Don after he killed her brother. However, Don always manages to toy with her and the rest of the police department while also chasing some ultimate goal.
