Filmfare Awards 2024: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor win best actor and actress

Gandhinagar: The 69th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2024, a grand celebration of excellence in the Hindi film industry, took place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism.

The event, held on January 28, was hosted by the dynamic trio of Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Maneish Paul.

This prestigious award ceremony witnessed the crowning of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor as the recipients of the coveted Best Actor and Best Actress awards, respectively. Alia Bhatt was honored for her exceptional performance in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani," while Ranbir Kapoor clinched the Best Actor title for his portrayal in "Animal."

Adding to the excitement, "12th Fail" emerged triumphant, with Vikrant Massey bagging the Best Actor (Critics) award for his stellar performance. The Best Director accolade was bestowed upon Vidhu Vinod Chopra for his outstanding work in "12th Fail."

The supporting cast shone as well, with Vicky Kaushal earning the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) for "Dunki," and Shabana Azmi securing the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female) for her role in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani."

The musical extravaganza of the evening saw the "Animal" music album, featuring contributions from Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, Harshwardhan Rameshwar, and Gurinder Seagal, claiming the Best Music Album award. Additionally, Bhupinder Babbal's soulful rendition in "Arjan Vailly - Animal" earned him the Best Playback Singer (Male) title, while Shilpa Rao's enchanting voice in "Besharam Rang - Pathaan" secured her the Best Playback Singer (Female) award.

The creative minds behind the scenes were also acknowledged, with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's screenplay for "12th Fail" receiving the Best Screenplay award, and Ishita Moitra honored for Best Dialogue in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani."

The technical brilliance of the industry was evident as Avinash Arun Dhaware's cinematography in "Three Of Us" earned him the Best Cinematography award, and Kunal Sharma's sound design in "Sam Bahadur" and "Animal" secured the Best Sound Design award.

Other notable winners included Harshavardhan Rameshwar for Best Background Score in "Animal," Ganesh Acharya for Best Choreography in "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani," and Spiro Razatos, Anl Arasu, Craig Macrae, Yannick Ben, Kecha Khamphakdee, Sunil Rodrigues for Best Action in "Jawan."

The event also witnessed the presentation of special awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award conferred upon David Dhawan and the R.D.Burman Award for Upcoming Music Talent presented to Shreya Puranik for her work in "Satranga-Animal."
