Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, currently on his Dil-Luminati India Tour, has announced he will no longer perform live in India until significant improvements are made to the infrastructure for concerts.
The tour, which marked Diljit’s return to live performances across the country, faced criticism from the artist during his Chandigarh concert on Saturday.
Videos from the event show Diljit addressing the audience in Punjabi, expressing his dissatisfaction with the current setup. "India lacks proper infrastructure for live shows," he said. "This is a major source of revenue and provides employment for many. I'll ensure the stage is better positioned next time, but until there are improvements, I won't perform live in India."
Despite his concerns, Diljit created memorable moments for his fans during the Chandigarh concert. He became emotional, reflecting on the significance of performing in his hometown, and dedicated the show to International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju.
Adding to the excitement, Diljit paid homage to Allu Arjun's Pushpa by recreating the iconic "Jhukega Nahi" dialogue, earning cheers from the crowd. While he admitted he hadn’t yet watched Pushpa 2, he confidently adapted the line to his Punjabi flair, saying, "If the saala doesn’t bow, why would the jija?"
