Kartik Aaryan's eagerly awaited film, *Chandu Champion*, hit theaters this Friday and has garnered significant attention.
On its second day, the film earned ₹6.75 crore at the domestic box office, according to Sacnilk.
The Kabir Khan-directed film had a strong opening day, performing well at the ticket counters.
Chandu Champion is a biographical drama based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympics gold medalist and Padma Shri recipient. The film highlights Petkar's indomitable spirit and determination.
Released on June 14, the movie is produced by Kabir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Pen Studios. Alongside Kartik Aaryan, the cast includes Vijay Raaz, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Bhagyashree, and Sonali Kulkarni.
Ahead of the release, the filmmakers hosted a grand screening in Mumbai. The event saw the attendance of notable personalities including Kartik Aaryan's co-stars Vidya Balan (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3), Ananya Panday (Pati Patni Aur Woh), and Alaya F (Freddy).
Murlikant Petkar and his family were also present at the premiere. In one emotional moment, Petkar's son, Arjun Petkar, embraced director Kabir Khan and Kartik Aaryan, moved by the film. Kartik Aaryan shared a video of this touching scene, captioning it, “First screening of Chandu Champion with the Man himself. An evening filled with honour, joy and tears with The Real Champion The Man who refused to surrender Mr Murlikant Petkar.”
Many have called the film a career best of Kartik Aaryan.
As Chandu Champion continues its box office journey, it is aiming for the ₹20 crore mark, riding high on the powerful story of a true champion.
