In a series of tweets directed at big Bollywood figures such as Karan Johar, actress Kangana Ranaut has lent her support to fellow actor Karthik Aryan after rumours surfaced about a fallout with Johar.
"Kartik has come this far on his own, on his own he will continue to do so, only request to [Johar] and his nepo gang club is please leave him alone like Shushant don't go after him and force him to hang himself. Leave him alone you vultures," the actress tweeted.
Ranaut also alleged that there was a smear campaign going on against the young actor in the form of 'blinds' and rumours that sought to portray him as an unprofessional actor with an attitude. She drew parallels with Sushant Singh Rajput, whom she claimed was a victim of the same as both Sushant and Kartik were outsiders in the industry.
The controversy resurfaced recently after Karan Johar's Dharma Productions released a post stating that their film 'Dostana 2' (a sequel to the hit 2008 film) would be recast with Collin D'Cunha replacing Aryan in the lead role. There were earlier speculations that Johar was unhappy with the lack of clarity on the actor's dates for shooting as well as creative differences that arose two and a half years after the film was conceived.
Dharma Productions has also allegedly decided not to work with the actor again.
