Ant-Man villain actor Jonathan Majors arrested for assaulting girlfriend

New York: Marvel actor Jonathan Majors has been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. He recently made headlines for playing Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The 33-year-old was arrested in Manhattan on Saturday during a domestic dispute. He was charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment. The police responded to a 911 call where a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female.

The police statement identified the male as Majors. "The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The woman sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was taken to a hospital."

Majors' spokesperson said that the actor is no longer in police custody and the relationship with the woman was described only as domestic. "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

After playing Kang, Majors was expected to appear in season two of Loki later this year. His villain character in Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantamania is central to MCU's upcoming phase. He has long-term plans with the studio and is anticipated to headline 'Avengers: The Kang Dynasty'.
