Hyderabad: Veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan sustained an injury during the shooting of his upcoming film Project K here. In a blog post, the 80-year-old star stated that he tore the muscle to his right rib cage, NDTV reported.
The star said that his rib cartilage "popped" while shooting an action shot and got injured. He received medical treatment there first, and now he is resting at his Mumbai residence, Jalsa.
On Tumbler, he wrote, "Yes, painful. On movement and breathing, it will take some weeks, they say before some normalisation will occur." Sharing the note, he appealed to his fans not to gather at Jalsa as usual Sundays. Gathering fans before his home every Sunday was a ritual for him for decades.
"It shall be difficult, or let me say I shall be unable to meet the well-wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening. So do not come and do inform as much as you can to those that intend to come. All else is well," he said.
He wrote that he had cancelled his shoot and consulted a doctor. At the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, he took a CT scan and left the city for home. Strapping has been done, and he is advised to take rest. There are medicines prescribed for the pain, he wrote.
"So all work that was to be done has been suspended and cancelled dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs," his post read, adding that he is able to move a bit for essential chores.
The cast of Project K includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani and is expected to hit screens next year.
