'Alien: Romulus' gets an Aug 23 Indian release date

The release date of the science fiction film Alien: Romulus, directed by Fede Alvarez, has been announced in India. One week after its US premiere, on August 23, the movie will open in Indian theatres.

Key characters in the movie are played by Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. Along with Walter Hill of Brandywine Productions, Ridley Scott and Michael A. Pruss produced Alien: Romulus under the Scott Free Productions banner.

The movie, which takes place in between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), follows a group of young space colonisers as they scavenge the deep corners of a derelict space station and encounter the most horrific living form in the universe, the New Indian Express reported.

Production design is done by Naaman Marshall, music is by Benjamin Wallfisch, editing is by Jake Roberts, and cinematography is by Galo Olivares. On August 23, 20th Century Studios India will release it in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English.
