Defeating BJP the prime concern; RJD offers support to Trinamool

Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav met at the secretariat today. Following the meeting, Tejaswi Yadav called for Bihar residents voting in the upcoming Bengal polls to vote for Trinamool Congress. Yadav clarified that the prime motive of the party is to stop the growth of the BJP in Bengal and stop the right-wing party from winning in the upcoming polls.

"We have always respected Didi, we have good relations. We will stand with Mamata Ji and stand against communal forces who want to break the nation. BJP is dreaming of coming to power here but it won't happen. I want to appeal to the people from Bihar to choose wisely," he said.

However, he did not respond to queries on whether he would contest with Trinamool. Thanking RJD for their support, Mamta said she and RJD leader Lalu Prasad respect each other. Tejaswi Bhai is fighting the BJP, and we are joining the fight, she added.
