Patna: RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the caste-based survey would happen at any cost since it is a demand put forward by a majority of people. His statement comes a day after the Patna High Court issued an interim stay on the matter, IANS reported.
He opined that the BJP made a clever move stopping the casted survey.
In a series of tweets, he said, "The caste-based census is a demand of the majority of people, and it will happen at any cost. BJP is scared of counting the majority of backwards-class people.
"Those who are opposing the caste-based survey are also against equality and humanity. They are the supporters of poverty, unemployment, backwardness, social and financial inequality.
"The people of the country are aware of the clever moves of the BJP," he said.
The Mahagathbandhan leaders claim that the caste-based census was started after a unanimous decision by an all-party meeting in Patna. But BJP leaders are claiming that the Nitish Kumar government failed to put their case in the court, IANS writes.
