'Director wanted me in underwear': Priyanka's another Bolly'd ordeal

New Delhi: Actor Priyanka Chopra revealed that she had the "dehumanizing" from Bollywood when a director told her that he wanted to see her in underwear in a particular scene. She added that the incident made her quit the Hindi film then, and there, NDTV reported.

Priyanka told The Zoe Report that she paid the production house back two days after two days of working on the film. Though she didn't name the movie or its director, she pinpointed that the incident happened in 2002-03. NDTV reports that it was when she debuted as an actress.

She briefed that she was an undercover agent in the movie and had to seduce a person. She was asked to remove one piece of clothing at a time.

"I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise, why is anybody coming to watch this movie?" NDTV quoted Priyanka from her chat with The Zoe Report.

She said that the director did not tell her directly but to her stylist in her presence. She said that it was a dehumanizing moment. She felt that she was nothing else outside of how she could be used. Her art and contribution to the work seemed unimportant, she said.

"He didn't say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of; I'm nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important." She said.

She added that on her father's advice, she left the project and paid the company back what it had spent on her in two days of shooting.
