Along with mass strikes, Israel military’s man-torture on battlefield out

Gaza: In the deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas, it is not only mass strikes but also rampant torture of stranded individuals on the battlefield by the Israeli military, The Guardian reports.

An Israeli human rights group has posted a video of the military killing two unarmed Palestinians in the West Bank during its military raid in a refugee camp there. Israel military police have initiated an investigation into the killing, the administration has informed, but whether it delivers justice to those unarmed men is yet to be seen.

According to the Guardian report, Israel rarely prosecutes war crime cases and even registers a case. In a case of manslaughter by an Israeli soldier, the soldier was sentenced to nine months in jail. The soldier had shot dead an injured Palestinian who was lying on the ground.

In the recent killing of the two unarmed men, the human rights group B’Tselem alleges that the Israeli military committed “illegal executions”.

A security video camera shows an Israeli military vehicle pursuing a group of refugees, and the soldiers from the vehicle gunned down a man carrying a red canister.

The military jeep reaches the man, who lies down bleeding on the ground, and soldiers fire multiple shots at the man. The second man, who was hiding behind a car hood, was shot at close range.

There was another incident of an Israeli man being killed by an Israeli soldier, mistaking that the former was a Palestinian. The soldiers shot him despite him kneeling to the ground, raising his hands and opening his shirt to show he wasn’t a threat.

There was another incident that came up in social media, in which a Palestinian photojournalist was beaten up by officers in East Jerusalem. In the video, an officer comes to the victim, strikes him with the butt of his gun while another officer pushes him against a car. When one pulled his gun at him, another put him in a headlock on the ground. The photojournalist was kicked on the head, and he was seen screaming in pain.

These were a few of many war crimes that are taking stage in the conflict-filled holy land of Palestine.
