Kyiv: Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office launched an investigation into the details of a video that showed Russian soldiers executing three captured Ukrainian soldiers.

The video first appeared on Telegram on Wednesday before being circulated on social media.

It reportedly showed three soldiers, captured in the Zaporizhzhia region, kneeling with their hands behind their hands before captors shot them.

As the "Prisoners of War (POWs)" collapsed to the ground smoke was seen rising from the guns the Russian soldiers held, NDTV reported.

Prosecutor General's Office in Kyiv said that the Russian army captured ‘Ukrainian defenders’ near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

‘An hour later, in violation of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the occupiers shot them,’ it added.

The news outlets in Ukraine said that Vladimir Putin's forces ‘are simply not human’.

The New Voice of Ukraine pointed out that Russian had previously executed captive Ukrainian soldiers.

Another video a few weeks ago showed two Russian military personnel shooting two surrendered Ukrainian soldiers.

Confirming the incident, Ukraine revealed that it occurred near near Stepove village in Pokrovsky district, in Donetsk Oblast region.

However, no official Ukrainian authority has yet reacted to the latest video.
