Several injured in Paris train station knife attack
text_fieldsParis: A man attacked several people with a knife at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris. Authorities said the victims were lightly wounded. The station is a hub for trains to London and northern Europe seeing about 700,000 travellers a day.
The attacker was arrested at the spot after the police opened fire and wounded him, reported AFP. The incident took place at around 6.45 am. Within one minute, six people were injured, reported BBC.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin tweeted: "An individual injured several people this morning at the Gare du Nord. He was quickly neutralised. Thank you to the police for their effective and courageous response."
The incident caused major delays in transport amid the early morning rush. The motive behind the attack is not yet clear. One of the injured was a border force officer.
