Sydney: Indian origin man with alleged BJP links has been accused in Australia of drugging and raping five women and is facing trial, The News Minute reported.

The Aam Aadmi Party had shared photos of the person with PM Narendra Modi, and he could also be seen wearing a saffron-coloured BJP printed shawl next to a flex board, which shows “Overseas Friends of BJP Australia”, which also feature PM Modi.

The accused, Balesh Dhankar, is a well-known member of the Indian community in Sydney. He lured Korean women and spiked their drinks with sleeping drugs, and raped them in his apartment, according to reports.

He targeted them by issuing fake advertisements offering translation jobs from Korean to English. He lures them to a bar in Hilton here before spiking their drinks. He allegedly films himself raping the victims using mobile cameras or hidden cameras.

Balesh is facing trial for rape 13 times, 17 intimate recordings without consent, and six counts of using drugs to commit offences and assault. He reportedly pleaded not guilty and has been suppressing his name for the past four years.

While an Australian news house Sydney Morning Herald reports that he has many videos of his sexual act on multiple devices, police said that Balesh is interested in young Korean women and in pornography where women are asleep or unconscious.

The survivors alleged that Balesh took them home and offered food or drink. They felt dizzy after taking them and do not remember anything after that.
