Vienna: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has verified that Iran's heavy water production plant at Khondab in central Iran suffered severe damage from strikes on March 27 and is now inoperable.

Analysis of satellite imagery shows the facility, which contains no declared nuclear material, is offline, the IAEA stated on X. Iran had notified the agency of the attack, with no radiation risks detected.

This follows reports of fresh strikes on Saturday targeting the same plant and the Khuzestan Steel Production Factory, which uses sealed radioactive sources (Co-60 and Cs-137) for gauging. Iranian authorities confirmed no off-site radiation leaks, and operations continue normally.

The incidents occur amid the escalating US-Israel-Iran conflict since February 28, with IAEA voicing concerns over a third strike near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant on Friday.
