A girl in Australia diagnosed with ‘the most painful condition’ known to humanity
text_fieldsCanberra: A 10-year-old girl in Australia is perhaps among the few humans on the planet who suffer extreme pain.
At touch or move, Bella Macey's entire right leg gives her ripples of excruciating pain of all sorts, according to a report in New York Post.
Bella is diagnosed with the rare condition of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), which according to reports is an incurable syndrome.
The painful condition got triggered on a family holiday in Fiji when a blister on her right leg got infected.
She is undergoing what is called the most painful condition known to humans.
The pain has stolen her childhood alongside affecting her daily activities, according to her GoFundMe campaign page.
‘Bella's pain has meant she has lost mobility in her right foot and leg, right up to her groin. She is now bedridden or in a wheelchair if she needs to get around,’ it further said.
Bella reportedly said that it is all sharp and burning and tingly, adding that there is all sorts of different pain she never knew existed.
‘I can't have a shower, I can't have a bath,’ she was quoted as saying, adding ‘I can't put (on) any sheets or anything on ... even with a tissue, you can't touch it with anything, otherwise I will scream.’
The rare condition, often triggered by minor injuries or surgeries, brought the young girl’s life to a standstill as she is unable to move, let alone going to school or playing with friends.
Her family took her to the US to get treatment from Spero Clinic but the family is struggling for money. Hence her mother set up GoFundMe campaign to receive donations.
