Kanpur: Police in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur are looking for a couple who cheated elderly people of Rs 35 crore, promising to make them young.

Rajeev Kumar Dubey and his wife Rashmi Dubey convinced people that an "Israel-made time machine" would help them regain youthfulness.

They set up a therapy centre ‘ Rivival World’ in Kanpur where, they claimed, a machine brought from Israel would transform 60-year-old into a 25-year-old, NDTV reported citing police.

They promised that the ‘oxygen therapy’ performed at the centre would restore youthfulness to elderly people.

Living in polluted air caused rapid ageing but ‘oxygen therapy’ would change it within months, they claimed.

Senior police official Anjali Vishwakarma said the couple offered 10 sessions for Rs 6,000 and charged 90,000 for a three-year reward system.

One of the victims of the scam, Renu Singh, complained to the police alleging that the couple cheated her of ₹ 10.75 lakh, adding that hundreds of people were cheated about 35 crore.

It is reported citing police that the couple are suspected to have fled abroad.
