Instagram launches GIF feature to comment on posts and reels

San Francisco: Instagram announced the global launch of GIF features to comment on posts and reels. Until now, comments were limited to texts and emojis.
Earlier, the GIF response feature had been rolled out to select users in some regions. Now, people across the world will be able to use it. The new feature will be gradually rolled out to India as well.
People can now comment using animated images by tapping on the GIF button located on the right side of the text box. The GIF library will allow users to search for a relevant GIF and share it.
Instagram lately has been listening to customer feedback and rolling out features that are actually useful. Last month, the ability to add up to five links to a user's profile bio was launched. It was a highly-requested feature because creators wanted to showcase their work and entrepreneurs wanted to lead people to their online businesses. It was also used to direct the audience to their other social profiles.
According to Meta, the company has been focusing on tweaking the Instagram Reels experience, and the time spent on the platform has grown over 24% since the launch of Reels.
